PRACE

What is AMEP?

The "Adult Migrant English Program" (AMEP) is a program which PRACE provides to help migrants and refugees settle successfully in Australia. We have qualified teachers who can provide to clients basic English as a second language.

What does it cost and who is eligible?

AMEP tuition is provided free of charge to the majority of clients.

The following categories of people are eligible:

  • Newly arrived migrants or humanitarian entrants from overseas;
  • Migrants who arrived in Australia after 1st of July 1991;
  • Temporary residents who hold a gazette visa class;
  • People who have been granted permanent residence in Australia since July 1991.

What learning options are available?

At PRACE you can choose from a range of learning options.

Part-time or full-time courses, offered during the day or at night.

Home-study through a distance Learning Program which includes books, cassettes, video-tapes and telephone contact with an AMEP teacher .
