In 2006 PRACE partnered with the City of Darebin in a successful application to the State Government to build a new Neighbourhood House in East Reservoir which is due to open in 2009. There are currently 7 Neighbourhood Houses in Darebin and the East Reservoir House will be a part of this network – making the 8th House for Darebin.
The funding for the House has come from a number of sources including Federal, State and Local government and PRACE. After 2 years of planning the building commenced in early October and it is expected that the House will be open to the public by mid 2009. The site for the house will be on the corner of Strathmerton and Cuthbert Streets and will be managed by PRACE in the first stage of development.
