Entry Requirements: To gain entry into CHC60312 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management learners must:

  • 1.  Hold a qualification at Diploma level or above relevant to work in the community sector

Or

  • 2.  Have sufficient relevant experience and knowledge of community work and/or community services to indicate likely success at this level of qualification in a job role involving:
  •  - The application of knowledge with depth in some areas and demonstration of a broad range of technical and other skills
  •  - A wide range of tasks and roles in a variety of contexts, with complexity in the range and choices of actions required
  •  - The exercise of discretionary judgment and decision making under general guidance

And

  • 3.   All students must have signed consent by workplace employer who can provide a work environment that will involve structured workplace learning.
  • 4.   Are currently employed in a community sector position that involves the supervision of a staff member, student placement or volunteer
  • 5.   Language / literacy & numeracy level to complete all assessment requirements of the course.

    Language / literacy & numeracy assessment is embedded in the application form. An interview may be required if concerns arise about candidates responses in the application form re: Language / literacy & numeracy level.
Course Description: This course will explore the essence of great leadership and management.
Pathway: The course will articulate into some university level management courses.Employment opportunities in the mental health, AOD, disability or community services sectors
at a management level include:

  • Community Service Managers

  • Senior Case Workers
  • Coordinators
  • Project Managers
Location: Merrilands Community Centre
Mode of Study: Part time-This industry model is delivered over a 12 month period with 13 classroom days.

Time: 9.00am—5.00pm
Dates: Semester 2  2013
Duration: 12 months
Cost: Eligible Candidates—$1075 (must meet eligibility criteria listed below)All Other Candidates—$5,500
