Blog as CourseWare?

All this fuss about Learning Management Systems - and how many are there? (Here's another List.)

One commentator suggests using a blogging tool, MoveableType, as the basis for building an interactive course. Another - Professor Elizabeth has run courses with it.

I think i'm going back to paper and scissors - i've had it with screen-based learning - too many options!

By the way, my FLL report finally got finished - i went to sleep one afternoon, and when i woke up, an angel had written it for me (ha, ha?). Get your copy here (ms word doc: around 326k). See you.

Oh, yes, if you want to read the Dougiamas interview - in a printable format - try the Acrobat version here. (acrobat.pdf - 118k).

Updating slows

Hello i haven't updated here for a while - yes i've become a 'blogger who doesn't blog' .. and i'm still working on my final report - "How on Earth do i Encapsulate or Sum Up Open Source?" It's so big! Updates will be rare from now on .. also working on more accessible presentation, categorisation and description of all the links listed in the blog section. Phew.

Currently what i'm finding interesting is the economic and business models that are put forward by Eric Raymond in his "Cathedral and the Bazaar" book. It's a great read .. and very challenging. The basic thrust of his argument is that the software industry needs to move from a manufacturing model to a service model..

The interview with Martin Dougiamas is getting the most hits, linked from moodle.org - which reminds me i ought to put a simple downloadable version of it, so people can print more easily .. okay it's on my list :)

.. if you'd like to be informed when it's ready, send me a message via the 'send a message' page.
