Bruce was legendary

This was a young guy, around fifteen years old, who had been kicked out of every school in the region – not because he was trouble, or “illiterate” – more because he was ‘weird’ and didn’t fit in. The youth program at PRACE suited him very well, and he soon displayed some amazing skills on the computer network. In fact, he came in one day, when we were moving all the machines from one room to another, and he networked all the computers during the coffee break. We couldn’t believe he hadn’t succeeded at school, because – not only did he have a great range of skills already – but he was so willing to try new things, work with other people.
