Harmony Day

Posted March 22, 2019

Yesterday PRACE staff and students celebrated Harmony Day with a story competition and delicious morning tea.

Harmony Day gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Australian multiculturalism, and inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background.  Australia is one of the most successful multicultural countries in the world and this should be celebrated.

Here at PRACE our diverse community speaks for itself.

Did you know?

PRACE’s student population:

  • speaks a total of 48 different languages at home,
  • represents 68 countries, and
  •  61% were born outside of Australia.

Wow!

As part of the celebrations, students were asked to write on the theme of  “what belonging means to me.”  The stories were wonderful.

Congratulations to our winners Safio, Layla and Shuo.
