Course Description This friendly and informal course is the perfect opportunity to get started or to build on your existing skills and knowledge.

During the course you will learn about woodworking tools and techniques from an experienced trade teacher. Classes are held in our modern, custom built workshop with plenty of space for you to work on your projects.

• All skill levels are welcome
• Small class sizes with plenty of time on the tools!
• Work on individual or groups projects

Pathway This course can lead to further study in the following qualifications.

• Cert. I in Manufacturing, Cabinet Making
• Cert. I in Furnishing
• Cert. III in Carpentry
• Cert. II in Building & Construction Pre-apprenticeship

Course Description This 8 session course provides an overview of the trade and will prepare you for a pre-apprenticeship at TAFE.

Learn about carpentry basics, tools, measurements and OHS standards. The course covers everything you need to know before starting a pre-apprenticeship at TAFE.

Develop your skills in the workshop with the guidance of an industry specialist. Small class sizes mean you get plenty of time on the tools.
Find out from real tradies what it’s really like to work in the carpentry trade. Learn about the opportunities and wages you can expect.

Pathway Further study in the following qualifications:

– Cert II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship
– Cert III in Carpentry in the hospitality industry, education pathways
