Prace has a strong commitment to supporting the people in our local community. For a number of years now Prace has run the Merrilands Community Centre, enabling many different community groups to gather and connect with each other, fostering a spirit of harmony and local access.
Through various events, expos and activities we not only aim to educate students, but also connect them with their local community and the services it offers. A visit to our partners page shows the range of our affiliations.

This group is mainly for Maltese-speaking older/retired persons meeting once a week at Merrilands Community Centre. We try to preserve Maltese language and Maltese culture and heritage. Our group provides weekly social activities: Ladies play Bingo, Men and Ladies play Bocce. They can have Tuna or Ham and Cheese Rolls, tea and coffee and Maltese pastries for a small charge. We have outings, restaurant days, etc. We also have lunches at a reception centre for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas Break-up. We welcome new members who live in Darebin, preferably those with Maltese background.
History: Reskeon Maltese Association was founded in 1976 as a social group. Twenty years later we realised our members were getting on in years and we formed the Reskeon Seniors Group. Two years ago the social group joined the seniors group to form one association: Reskeon Maltese Association Seniors Group Inc. In 2016 we celebrated the 40th anniversary of the social group and the 20th anniversary of the seniors group.

The Safe Seats Safe Kids FREE Child Car Restraint Fitting and Safety Check Program is hosted by Kidsafe Victoria for local parents and carers in partnership with Neighbourhood Houses Victoria and support from the Victorian State Government.
Anecdotal evidence suggests that over 70% of child car restraints are incorrectly fitted or used. This poses a serious safety risk to children travelling in those restraints.
Events are run every Monday at Prace. To book your spot please visit our website: www.safeseatssafekids.com.au/venues-mec
