Course Description: This beginners’ course will give you the confidence to perform a range of basic tasks on a computer.

The course will cover:

  • Using computer hardware
  • Understanding software types
  • Using basic Windows 10 commands
  • Using Microsoft Word 2016 (entering data, formatting, saving & filing)
  • Introduction to internet and email

Note: Program designed for PC compatible machines

Pathway: Certificate I / II in Information, Digital Media and Technology. Work or volunteer opportunities requiring basic computer skills.

Course Description: In this course you will:

  • Gain an introduction to online job applications
  • Tailoring cover letters and resumes
  • Compose professional emails for job applications
  • Develop interview & presentation skills
  • Build confidence and personal effectiveness when seeking work
  • Participate in a Self Assessment to assist in identifying transferrable skills
  • Learn to apply the “8 Step—Job Search Approach” which includes responding to selection criteria requirements
