Education Support Workshop for Interview Success

Posted January 8, 2019

On 14th November 2018, 26 current PRACE Education Support students got an amazing opportunity to attend a Mock Interview Workshop generously hosted by Epping Views Primary School. Students from our March, May and June intakes attended the workshop along with PRACE VET Coordinator, Ancy Kurban and teachers Edita and Steve. The impressive mock interview panel consisted of the Principal and Assistant Principal of EVPS, as well as current EVPS Education Support Staff –many of whom are former PRACE graduates–, Classroom Teachers and the Assistant Principal from Harvest Home Primary School, Epping.

This could not have been a more authentic interview experience for our students, fielding questions from education professionals who play a role in hiring education support staff. We are so grateful to the panel and Epping Views Primary School for supporting our students’ learning through this vital and unique work preparation experience. Reflecting on the workshop, one participant proclaimed,

I found the whole workshop really helpful, interesting and useful. The information and tips, exercise with the students and the mock panel interview were invaluable.

I have gone for lots of job interviews in the past but never have I had the opportunity to practice my interview skills in a mock panel and I found the exercise really useful and also a boost to my confidence. It was fantastic practice. So grateful to PRACE and Epping Views for this opportunity.
