Prace College offers a community education learning environment as an alternative to mainstream education for young people who have left school or struggled within the mainstream education system. We believe that all young people should be able to positively engage in education regardless of their life circumstances and barriers to learning.
At Prace College our VCAL Program aims to improve the learning outcomes for young people and re-engage them not only with education, but also with society and their community. Our philosophy is underpinned by a ‘strength based approach’, focusing on each learners areas of competency, capacity, insight and drive to improve their life circumstances.
Prace College offers Foundation (21352VIC) and Intermediate (21353VIC) VCAL for young people aged 15-18. The course includes Literacy, Oral Communication, Numeracy, Personal Development, Work Related Skills and Units from Certificate II courses. Students are able to study full or part time and will learn in the classroom, on work placement and experience incursions and excursions. Other benefits include breakfast and lunch each day.
VCAL prepares graduates for further education and training, apprenticeship, traineeship or full time work.
