Child safety
As Prace strives to develop dynamic, responsive and innovative educational programs, teaching and learning experiences, it will intentionally promote and protect the interests and safety of children, and a child-safe environment for all children and young people in its care.
This will be achieved by:
- having a zero tolerance for child abuse
- working to actively listen to and empower children
- having systems to protect children from abuse, and will take all allegations and concerns very seriously and responding to them consistently in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures
- being committed to promoting cultural safety for Aboriginal children, cultural safety for children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds, and to providing a safe environment for children with a disability
- engaging only the most suitable people to work with children along with providing high quality supervision and professional development.

Commitment to Australian Democratic Principles
Australian society is defined, among other aspects, by a belief in elected Government; by a commitment to the rule of law, to equal rights for all before the law; and by a belief in freedom of religion, freedom of speech and freedom of association. Our society is also tolerant of a range of religious, political, social and cultural beliefs and values in the context of the fundamental principle of our democracy.
The Education and Reform Act 2006 requires all education providers to operate in a manner consistent with this set of Australian democratic principles.
In accordance with the Act, we deliver curriculum programs, learning and teaching in a manner that supports and promotes the principles and practice of Australian democracy. This includes a commitment to:
- Elected government
- Rule of law
- Equal right for all before the law
- Freedom of religion
- Freedom of speech and association
- The values of openness and tolerance
We demonstrate this commitment through our focus, vision, philosophy and values. At Prace and Prace College we:
Support the principles and practices of Australian Democracy, as well as equal opportunity and non-discrimination.
Undertake to ensure that programs are accessible to all eligible members of the community and are responsive to individual needs.
Are committed to providing a respectful, safe and inclusive learning environment which is free from discrimination, harassment, bullying, vilification, victimisation and otherwise unlawful and unacceptable behaviours.
Safer communities
Prace advocates for safer communities. We are committed to supporting gender equity and preventing violence against women. By reducing violence against women and children, we can help to create a community that is safer, healthier, more inclusive, diverse and dynamic for everyone.
