Reconnect in 2021

Posted March 30, 2021

2021 is a big year for the Prace Reconnect team with big changes to eligibility criteria and participant outcomes. And, they have expanded their service delivery area too!

The Reconnect program provides targeted assistance to help people get into education, training and employment. Importantly, participants are encouraged to develop individual plans based on their own goals and aspirations.

To achieve this, Reconnect case workers work one-to-one participants to achieve their goals through:

  • Exploring career goals and aspirations.
  • Creating a plan and making it happen.
  • Financial support to get participants started.
  • Guidance on finding the right course or training provider.
  • Assistance with participant employment searches.
  • Support to help participants stay on track.

Eligibility criteria has also been revised and Reconnect are now able to support a more diverse participant cohort including:

  • People aged 17-64 who are not engaged in education or training, or are under-employed.
  • Young people involved with Youth Justice.
  • Asylum seekers.

*Further conditions apply.

Detailed information about eligibility and exemptions can be found on our Reconnect page.

The Prace Reconnect program has also expanded it’s delivery area and now supports participants in the City of Whittlesea, Darebin, Banyule, Nillumbik, Moreland and Mitchell (Wallan, Beveridge and Kilmore). As a result, our team is expanding and will spend time working from the offices at Wallan Neighbourhood House.

As 2021 unfolds, we look forward to sharing more stories about the Reconnect team.
