Carpentry Trainer Position
PRACE is a not-for-profit adult education provider and charity situated in the northern suburbs of Melbourne.
We are currently seeking applications for the following position for 2019 delivery.
This position is over two days teaching two different student groups (Carpentry Trade Taster and Work with Wood). Both programs include essential basic carpentry skills and a basic understanding of OH&S in a workshop environment. The Carpentry Trade Taster aims to provide a pathway to a pre-apprenticeship at TAFE therefore includes building the skills necessary to confidently commence an apprenticeship/ future accredited training or employment.
The successful applicant/s will be confident to introduce learners to carpentry methods and tools (both hand and power); workplace health and safety principles; what it means to undertake a trade course along with explaining the financial benefits of becoming a carpenter.
