Retail Trainer Position

PRACE is a not-for-profit adult education provider and charity situated in the northern suburbs of Melbourne

We are currently seeking applications for the following position for 2019 delivery.

  • Sessional trainer: Retail Industry
  • 2 day per week (Monday and Thursday) – 9.30am to 2.30pm
  • Commencing February 2019 (Term 1 and Term 3)

This program combines essential basic retail skills to provide learners with the opportunity to gain entry level positions in the retail sector.  Content will cover key selling skills, communication and customer service, safe work practices, work place environment and culture and includes external excursions plus more.

Essential:

  • Relevant industry qualifications / experience demonstrating competency skills and knowledge in teaching in current Retail environments
  • Strong customer service and merchandising skills
  • Experience teaching flexible and inclusive curriculum that meets a range of student learning styles and needs in a community setting
  • Demonstrated ability to follow complex administrative systems and meet deadlines
  • Experience working with disadvantaged and / or disengaged learners

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE) or equivalent
  • Certificate in First Aid

Conditions include:

  • Police Check (mandatory)
  • Working with Children’s Check (mandatory)
  • 3 month probation
