Seeking – Prace College Teacher

Prace College is seeking experienced & dedicated Vocational Major & Vocational Pathways teacher to teach across campuses in Reservoir and Mernda. This is a part-time 0.6 position.

You will be part of a dynamic team passionate about helping students to achieve their goals through education. The role requires dedicated professionals to maximise student engagement and learning outcomes.

Prace College provides the supportive, flexible and inclusive education to meet the needs of young people within the community, and to support them to participate in learning, community and work activities. We are a not-for-profit organisation.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent (essential)
  • Masters in a complimentary discipline such as Special Education, Psychology, Social Work (desirable)
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or successor; or TAE40110 plus (or including) TAELLN401A / TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 / A / B (essential or willing to get the qualification) 
  • First aid (desirable)

Selection Criteria

  • Understanding of learning theories and delivery styles appropriate to an alternative learning environment, including learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, mental health disorders and substance abuse
  • Extensive experience in developing an engaging and integrated curriculum 
  • Well-developed skills in teaching, including the ability to select and use a wide range of teaching and assessment strategies appropriate to a diverse learner population
  • Ability to integrate I.C.T. into teaching & learning practices
  • Highly developed administrative & organisational skills
  • Capacity to meet requirements of the relevant accredited courses, VCAA & VRQA school registration and compliance requirements
  • Highly developed communication skills that demonstrate a capacity to engage with staff, students, networks and partners
  • Demonstrated ability to complete Quality Assurance documentation
