Description:

This course will help people with intellectual disabilities to build the general knowledge and skills to confidently approach the job market or pathway into accredited training.

Program will cover:

  • Building effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Understanding theatre production operations
  • Reading body language
  • Monitoring tone of Voice
  • A range of practical activities (managing ticket sales, creating flyers and costumes, end of semester performance)
  • General equipment & IT skills relevant to a theatre environment (lighting, projectors, speakers and microphones)
  • Developing team work skills
Pathway: Work / volunteering in Community/Theatre production, Certificate I in Transition Education
Location Merrilands Community Centre
Mode of Study Classroom based with guest speakers and off site excursions.

Time 9.30am—2.30pm

Term 1: 28 January — 1 April, 2019

(no classes on public Holidays 28th January & 11th March)
