It’s the best thing since sliced bread…..
PRACE in partnership with Reservoir Neighbourhood House and the Bread Brigade are receiving a weekly delivery of the most delicious bread, scones and bread rolls for our asylum seeker students.
Each Monday the bread arrives and our volunteers sort it into sweet and savoury, seeded and sour dough and all the roll varieties you could wish for.
The hardest part is for the students to decide what to choose for their families.
The bread delivery is part of the Asylum Seekers Welcome Project generously supported by a grant from the Sidney Myer Fund. The Asylum Seekers Welcome Project is designed to maximise community goodwill and support to this disadvantaged group. Our project worker Deb seeks out and liaises with donors of material aid and community programs, connecting them with asylum seekers who live in the local area.
We are always looking to connect with new donors, so please contact us if you or someone you know would like to help.
