Seeking – Education Support Trainer

About the role
Prace Inc is seeking an experienced trainer to deliver the Certificate III in School Based Education Support on a part-time basis. This role is based in Northern and Western suburbs of Melbourne, VIC and will involve delivering engaging and practical training to students seeking to become Education Support Workers in a school environment.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing and delivering training sessions for the Certificate III in School Based Education Support
  • Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support their learning and development
  • Maintaining accurate student records and complying with all reporting requirements
  • Collaborating with the education team to continually improve the course content and delivery
  • Providing support and guidance to students to ensure their success in the program

What we’re looking for

  • Relevant education support or teaching qualification, and extensive experience delivering vocational education and training programs
  • Strong understanding of the education support industry and the skills required to work effectively in a school environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse student cohort
  • Strong skills in using learning management systems and other educational technology
  • Someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of students and supporting them to achieve their goals

Selection Criteria

  1. Relevant qualification/s and experience
    • Relevant industry experience in the Education Support sector – supporting school age children. Preferably Primary, Secondary or Special Needs Schools
    • Qualifications / current skills & knowledge demonstrating competency in the units contained within the Certificate III in School Based Education Support (CHC30221)
    • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116 or successor; or TAE40110 plus (or including) TAELLN401A / TAELLN411 and TAEASS502 / A / B.
    • Teaching Degree or Graduate Diploma of Education (desirable)
  2. Demonstrated understanding of how students learn and effective classroom teaching or support strategies
  3. Ability to use relevant computer applications such as Google Apps, Microsoft Office Apps, and video conferencing software
  4. Excellent organisational skills
  5. Highly developed interpersonal skills

As part of Prace’s recruitment and selection process, applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment safety screening process. Successful appointment to a position will be subject to, but not limited to, the following checks: National Police Check, Victorian Employee Working with Children Check, current and valid Driver’s Licence.
