At Prace, we believe learning should be an enjoyable and engaging experience, especially for our English as an Additional Language (EAL) students. One of our favourite in-class activities is a multi-sensory name game that helps students get to know one another while improving their language skills.
The activity is simple but effective:
“My (Slap thigh), Name (Clap), is (Click fingers) _______ (Click fingers)”
“Her name is _______”
With each round, students introduce themselves and the person next to them, using gestures like clapping, slapping thighs, and finger clicking. This playful approach uses both movement and repetition, helping students retain information better and creating a lively atmosphere in class.
But that’s not all! We also play vocabulary revision games where students use similar gestures to reinforce new words. These activities help develop confidence in speaking, listening, and remembering words in a fun and interactive way.
It’s always a joy to see our students laugh and learn together, building language skills while forming meaningful connections in the classroom!
Join us in the fun and see how learning English can be an exciting adventure!
