EAL Students Become Authors

On Tuesday our Course in Initial EAL students became authors. Students studied a short story from the textbook Welcome to Hope Street by Clare Harris. They learnt about things people like and things people love. They matched sentences with pictures and then used the story as a model to write their own page in our class reader. With guidance students choose clip art images to illustrate their page. The look of pride on the students’ faces when they were each given their own copy of their story was priceless.
