Meet Tara

Today we’re pleased to introduce you to Tara who has just completed our Introduction to MYOB & Bookkeeping course.

“I did my MYOB certificate years ago, but I needed to do a refresher and the Prace course was excellent,” she said.

“Our teacher Steven was very thorough and made sure everyone understood not only the process of inputting data with MYOB, but also the principles of bookkeeping behind it. “That was the part I most enjoyed because the combination of theory with practical case studies meant that we really understood the ‘why’ as well as the ‘how’.

“We looked at a variety of different business case studies so by the time we came to inputting data, we had a good grasp of the processes and how they all fit together and why each one was important.

“We learned how to begin a business; manage cash flow and capital; inventory; sales purchasing; banking and payroll; general ledger and balance sheets; profit and loss; accrual and income statements. It was very comprehensive.

“The class was quite diverse, with a mixture of ages and experience, but Steven made sure everyone worked at their own pace and grasped each concept before moving on. We had a lot of peer-to-peer support too, and that made the atmosphere in the class very comfortable as we helped each other out.

“I had remembered a lot of the data inputting processes, but not as much of the theory, so I found that part of the course really reinforced my knowledge. I feel very confident now about working in this area,” she said.
