About the role
The Operations Manager is a key member of the College Leadership Team and is responsible for leading the effective day-today operations of the College. The role includes operational oversight of staffing, timetabling, supervision, student-free day planning, student intake support, Education Support staff supervision, excursions and events, facilities liaison, and compliance requirements. The role may also undertake the role of Campus Lead at either campus where required.
Key responsibilities
- lead the daily operations of Prace College across two campuses
- coordinate staffing adjustments, timetabling changes, yard duty and supervision arrangements
- support student enrolment, intake, transition and placement processes
- supervise Education Support Staff and contribute to recruitment, induction and performance development
- coordinate student-free days, room bookings, agendas and operational planning
- oversee excursions, incursions and special events
- support a safe, calm and well-organised school environment, including when undertaking Campus Lead responsibilities
- contribute to compliance, child safety, risk management and continuous improvement processes.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- a relevant tertiary qualification in education, youth work, social work, community services, management or a related field
- extensive experience working with young people in an educational setting
- demonstrated experience in school operations, student engagement, wellbeing coordination, or school leadership responsibilities
- demonstrated experience supervising staff and coordinating day-to-day operations in a school or similar educational setting
- strong judgement, initiative and the ability to respond calmly to emerging issues
- highly developed interpersonal, organisational and communication skills
- a commitment to child safety, inclusive practice and social justice.
Desirable:
- Victorian Institute of Teaching registration
- postgraduate qualification in education, leadership, wellbeing, psychology or a related field
- current First Aid qualification, or willingness to obtain one.
