Digital Mentor Training

Posted February 20, 2020

Congratulations to our Volunteer team who completed Digital Mentor Training this week.

There are still many Australians who need help to use the internet, and it may surprise you to learn that some of them have never used computers, mobile devices or the internet before. Digital Mentors are trained to support these people to build their confidence and skills in using digital technology.

For example, the PRACE Digital Mentors will help others :

  • Be safe online
  • Connect with family and friends who live far away
  • Find new friends who share interests and hobbies
  • Connect with old friends online
  • Keep up to date with what’s happening in communities and around the world
  • Shop online safely and securely.

Our volunteers are now ready to start mentoring in the community. Most importantly, they will be supported by the Lead Digital Mentor as they put their skills into practice, inspiring and empowering older Australians to get online.

North East Neighbourhood House Network delivered the Be Connected training at PRACE as part of a Neighbourhood Houses capacity building grant.
