Introducing ‘The Law’

At the end of every term, our English as an Additional Language (EAL) students celebrate with a morning tea and seminar. Our most recent theme was ‘The Law’ and we had five industry representatives come to Prace to share their knowledge and expertise with us – Albert Fatileh and Ansam Sadik from Preston Police, Leon Nguyen and Bernadette Jones from Services Australia (Centrelink) and Diana Andrews from Metro Trains Victoria.

At Prace we strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment – creating an opportunity for our students to engage face to face with each of our guest speakers, to ask the questions they needed to ask and to receive an instant response. Low level English language skills are one many barriers facing our students on daily basis. Our morning tea seminars are designed to meet them at their level – meaning they can access vital information about key topics related to living and working in Australia.

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Preston Police, Services Australia (Centrelink) and Metro Trains Victoria for taking the time to engage with our students. The information, clarity and peace of mind you gave our students is invaluable.
