Seeking – Youth Worker

ABOUT THE ROLE

Prace College is seeking an experienced and dedicated Youth Worker to provide support to students who have disengaged from mainstream education and often face complex personal and social challenges. The role focuses on fostering positive relationships, promoting student wellbeing, and supporting engagement in learning through targeted interventions, classroom support, and collaboration with school staff. Working closely with teachers, wellbeing staff, and external services, the Youth Worker helps create a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment where all students have the opportunity to thrive.

You will be part of a dynamic team passionate about helping students to achieve their goals through education. The role is primarily based at our Mernda campus, however as a multi-campus school, will require travel to and between our two sites. Responsibilities and duties include:

  • the provision of student support
  • teamwork and collaboration across the college and within the wellbeing team
  • administration, record-keeping and reporting
  • adhering to Child Safe practices.

Prace College is an Independent Specialist School that provides supportive, flexible and inclusive education to meet the needs of at-risk young people and supports them to re-engage with and participate in learning, community and work activities. We are a not-for-profit organisation. 

 ABOUT YOU

Qualifications and experience:

  • Certificate IV in Youth Work or above
  • Experience engaging with young people, preferably in an education setting.
