To celebrate the end of Term 3, our EAL students enjoyed an exciting day out in the city, visiting the beautiful Royal Botanic Gardens. This excursion was a chance to explore, practice English in new settings, and connect with each other through a day of shared adventure.
The journey began with a group meet-up at Keon Park train station, where students caught the train together, soaking up the bustling city atmosphere on the way. Upon arrival, the class made their way to the iconic Shrine of Remembrance, where they posed for a group photo on the historic steps. After a brief climb to the top, students were treated to a stunning view of the Melbourne skyline – a perfect spot for appreciating the city and all its landmarks.
The gardens themselves were filled with surprises! Students wandered through some of the most scenic spots, admiring the bold and colourful flowers that lined the paths. They stopped to hug trees, take photos, and simply enjoy the fresh air and greenery around them.
For lunch, everyone gathered on the grass for a relaxed picnic, sharing stories, laughter, and food. It was a wonderful way to unwind and reflect on everything learned this term.
The day was full of laughter, learning, and new friendships. As students headed back on the train, they left with memorable experiences and a fresh perspective on their English learning journey. Here’s to more adventures in the terms to come!
