Meet Stella, Prace’s Facilities Booking and Admin Assistant. Since joining Prace in late 2023, Stella has been charmed by the friendly atmosphere. “Everyone here is so welcoming,” she says, noting the constant smiles and greetings that make each workday exciting.
People are often surprised to learn that Stella was born in Greece and arrived in Australia as a ten-year-old. Stella swiftly mastered English, thanks to a school buddy. “My first year was tough, but by high school, I was fluent,” she recalls. Despite assimilating into Australian life, Stella remains connected to her Greek roots, particularly through Greek dancing and cuisine. During COVID, she even started an Instagram page showcasing traditional Greek recipes.
Handling venue hire, Stella interacts closely with community members. “Community members have the Prace attitude too, and are very friendly. I like to say ‘buon giorno!’ each week when I see the Italian seniors and they always give me a wave and a greeting.
“We also have a variety of other groups of people who use the facilities on a regular or ad hoc basis. For example a large family recently hired the hall for a birthday celebration and we can also accommodate regular afterschool or weekend activities and of course we have the stadium for basketball games.”
Prace’s venue hire offerings cater to various events, ensuring inclusive, accessible spaces. From community functions to meetings, their facilities boast disability access, ample parking, and nearby public transport. With a commitment to fostering connections in a welcoming environment, Prace offers competitive rates, especially for community groups and nonprofits.
