We are excited to share the story of Ani, one of our students, volunteers, and casual employees, who recently participated in the Given the Chance Employment Program through the AMEP Reconnect initiative.
Ani attended the two-day workshop that covered essential topics such as Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), effective communication in the workplace, and practical advice for job interviews. This valuable experience has not only increased her confidence but also opened doors to new employment opportunities.
Ani says:
“The workshop was incredibly helpful and provided me with tools to succeed. I am grateful for the support and guidance from the program and would recommend it to anyone looking to boost their skills and job prospects.”
What a fantastic opportunity for Ani! A big thank you to the Brotherhood of Saint Laurence for offering such an important program for those who need it most. Given the Chance is a social enterprise that supports disadvantaged job seekers in finding paid employment by partnering with businesses across a variety of industries. It’s initiatives like this that truly make a difference in people’s lives.
