Excursion Time!

Posted April 24, 2024

Our Community Connections class had an incredible day out thanks to Eliza and the team at North Western Program Alliance, who are working hard on constructing the new Keon Park Station.

We started our journey by experiencing firsthand the replacement bus service due to the temporary closure of Keon Park Station. With Eliza’s guidance, we navigated seamlessly to Thomastown Station, where we boarded the train and crossed the impressive new Skybridge track to Ruthven Station. We even got to be one of the first groups to travel across the Skybridge!

After exploring Ruthven Station, we returned via the replacement bus, and Eliza then took us under the Skybridge (photo below) to Bam Bams for lunch! It was a perfect way to wrap up an educational and fun-filled day.

Thank you, North Western Program Alliance, for keeping our community informed about the progress of the level crossing removal works and your dedication to improving our community’s transportation infrastructure. Our students were truly privileged to witness the progress up close, and it’s an experience they won’t forget.
