Kicking off the year with Uncle Trevor

Posted April 5, 2023

It was an honour and a privilege to have Uncle Trevor Gallagher ‘Kick the Year Off’ with the Prace College community last week. He performed a smoking ceremony and shared his cultural knowledge with students and staff.

Trevor Gallagher is an Aboriginal man from Gunditjmara Country, all the lines on his face tell a story of hardship and pain but also a story of reconciliation where over the journey he has tried to forgive but never forget what has happened to him and his family over the journey, one might say that his is an Aboriginal story where he wants to educate people about his culture.

Prace acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woiwurrung people as the traditional owners and custodians of the unceded lands on which we work, teach and learn. We pay our respect to their Elders past, present and the students, staff and community we work with everyday.
