From Level 4 English to Volunteering

Celebrating National Volunteer Week on Monday, we reflected on how our wonderful volunteers find us. Some come through volunteer networks or know us through our community presence, and others come to us as former students.
Four of our current volunteers took up volunteering with PRACE after completing their Level 4 English studies with us. After our morning tea they visited our Level 4 EAL class to talk about volunteering and its benefits.
The volunteers spoke about how wonderful it feels to assist others and in a very practical sense how volunteering is a worthy pathway for those waiting for employment opportunities. Each made mention of the confidence and communication skills they’d gained while in the Level 4 EAL class.
